  • The Piccolo XR is a small sized wireless Remote Terminal Unit that operates as an integral part of the IRRInet system. The Piccolo XR operates up to 4 latched outputs and may receive up to 7 digital inputs (model dependent).

The PIU (Piccolo  Interface Unit) is connected to the IRRInet Field Unit and communicates with Piccolo-XR units via its internal two-way low-power radio.
The Piccolo XR and PIU are equipped with internal 10/100mWatt radios (configurable).
In order to extend radio coverage the Piccolo XR is capable of operating in a networking mode using numerous hops.

The Piccolo XR available in 4 I/O’s models:

    • 1 Output 1 Input
    • 2 Output’s 2 Input’s
    • 4 Output’s 4 Input’s
    • 1 Output’s 7 Input’s

The Piccolo XR is designed to work in nearly all environments. With its Self-Contained, Secured enclosure system, the XR can be installed in minutes ready to work with your IRRInet system.

    Self-Sufficient

The Cabinet Assembly System (CAS) is a Mottech enclosure with a built-in solar panel and a strong integrated locking system to prevent vandalism and un-authorized access.

The Piccolo XR is a high efficiency unit designed with very low power requirements. The unit ships complete with a 6V/90mA solar panel, designed to extend the life of the battery, provide a stable energy source and insure reliable communications.

    Capability

The XR is utilized in hundreds of various applications across thousands of units.

    • Irrigation Control – Controlling Irrigation functions such as Valves, Water meters, Starting/Stopping Pumps and Fertigation
    • Master valve control – Within HOA’s, and Cities, the XR is wireless controlling Master Valves to minimize risk associated with broken Mainlines and Valves that fail in the open position.
    • Monitoring Options – Tracking flow, Pressure, Water Levels, Soil Moisture, pH and Salinity.

    Advanced and autonomic communication capabilities

The Piccolo XR communication using an integrated, low power radio providing range capabilities of 2-3 km depending on the terrain. Powerful Store and Forward capabilities allow for extended coverage using multiple XR units deployed in a an advance network methodology.

      Sensor IoT

      Overview

Mottech increases its portfolio of solutions and adds Sensor IoT units which allows connect sensors and meters to the ICC PRO platform using LoRaWAN protocol.
The IoT controllers solution includes gateways and Sensor IoT units that connect to the ICC PRO platform, allowing system users to receive more data from distant locations efficiently and economically.

      Sensor IoT

      System components

      GatewaysMottech IoT Gateway

The IoT Gateway is housed in an Independent IP67 waterproof case that transmits end unit data to the ICC PRO. The IoT Gateway, installed on a wall or a pole, communicates with the ICC PRO via cellular, Ethernet and Wi-Fi and manages hundreds of end units. Unit programming is simple and user-friendly.

      IRRInet Edge

The IRRInet Edge Gateway enables the transfer of data through an internal LoRaWAN adapter. Using IRRInet Edge as a gateway enables local I/O and remote Piccolo XR control

      Sensor IoT units

The Sensor IoT units are installed in a small, light, IP67 waterproof case which is resistant to harsh conditions and designed for outdoor installation. The units are powered by a high-capacity internal battery that lasts up to 5 years, depending on data transfer usage.
Some models can accommodate an integrated solar panel to charge the battery. From the Gateway, data is transferred to ICC PRO. Sensor IoT units are easily and simply configured using mobile phones via NFC or Wired USB ports.
